Hey all,

I'm David, currently nickname-less, so you can just call me David.

I was introduced to poi about 5 years ago when my then-girlfriend (now my wife!) took a fire performance class and bought me a pair of practice poi for xmas. I learned on my own, before the days of Youtube, for a year before I tried fire!

This year I led the same workshop that she took all those years ago! Full circle!

I'm pretty much a poi person, and I'm really focused on good, strong movement along with the poi.

I also dabble in sword (influenced by wushu) and occasionally torches, palm torches, and staff, but I pretty much prefer poi above everything else!

I teach in Vancouver, BC and perform with a local troupe at corporate events and festivals. It's not a very techy group - much more artsy - and I'm actually really starved for more techy poi-centered inspiration! Alien Jon just visited here recently and really opened my eyes to some new possibilities!

Hi the name is X and I live down in Texas. I have been playing around with poi for maybe about six months now. I am just getting most of the basic down. I am still using glow poi and hoping to move to fire sometime soon.So yeah there is my intro.

Well nice to meet you X my names Sam and im from colorado, I do poi and fire breathing and ive been performing for about 2 years. Im really glad to have someone else from the states on here and if you know of any events or fire gatherings in texas post them in the texas thread under united states in the global discussions forum. And if you need any help with doing your poi there are tutorial videos on here and fire equipment for sale.welcome to firetricks.net .

hey x welcome to firetricks. Do you guys do some regular meets in texas? Would love to see photos\video if you have some.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. If I found out about any meetings I will be sure to put them up and post pictures. Yes and no shade. They are couple groups down here meet regularly but they are mostly on the other side of the city so I don't attend.
